I have worked on projects for clients of all sizes, from small companies to large government agencies. I enjoy working with other creative people, and explaining the creative process to others who don’t get to experience that process every day.

Print Design

I have worked on print design projects from simple 1-page flyers to booth graphics for trade shows, posters for integrated campaigns to unified labels for a beer company.

WEB SITES AND ELECTRONIC DESIGN

I design sites using a user-centered design approach. Sometimes, this means soliciting feedback from actual users. Other times, it starts with use cases and personas, a content inventory and card sort exercise, and leads to wireframing before the actual prototypes. In 2000 (in anticipation of enforcement of the Section 508 standards), I began using the Federal Section 508 guidelines for all Web sites that I design. I regularly work with accessibility experts and developers to ensure that my electronic designs are accessible.

USABILITY

One of the best ways to get a sense of user needs is to ask users during a usability test. I have been a note-taker and and moderator for usability tests, written scripts for the tests, and compiled recommendations based on the testing results.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I have experience with artistic photography as well as studio photography projects for use in advertising.
